Emily:
So it’s been a little while, hasn’t it? Oops. It’s been my turn and I just haven’t got around to writing anything. Not for any particular reason but I just haven’t found my mojo with blog writing yet.
I’ve been thinking this week how lucky I am to have the opportunity to be creative every day. My job is to literally create things. I take inspiration from absolutely everywhere and I hope that no one ever looks at the notes on my phone because that’s literally my brain. Every quote I love, every funny conversation, every delicious word I hear is written down in that little folder. I like to write poetry and whether it ends up as one verse or an epic Milton style poem, it’s creativity in its purest form. You just start with an idea or a thought and go with it.
As I’ve mentioned before, I studied English Literature at uni and although I adored every second of it, by the end of my masters, I craved a time that I could be creative myself and not comment or analyse another’s creative endeavour. So the minute I finished my degree, I joined forces with my unstoppable mother and we created this business.
I don’t really have a purpose in writing this. But what I am trying to say is that being creative for a little bit each day helps my brain a lot. Whether it’s sewing, poetry, music, gardening, or even reading something interesting - it's good for the soul. I highly recommend it.
I hope you are all safe and well and are coping as best as one can in a global pandemic. We've got this.

Em.
